Shot-in-the-dark email advertising has become one of the best ways to annoy a potential customer. As a ridiculous amount of SPAM emails have rendered most email advertising attempts useless, they have almost threatened the very use of email as an effective form of communication. Let’s face it, who likes to look through 30 to 40 SPAM emails to find one that may be of importance. Most of us realize that we will not be winning anything from South Africa, the mortgage rate is not right for us, we are not going to meet singles in our area, and that credit card applications are not hard to come by. Yes, erroneous emails can be annoying, that’s why a more creative approach needs to be used when advertising.

We have started offering custom designed email newsletters to advertise your business or provide useful information. A newsletter is an interesting way to update and promote your business that has much better results. Throw in a sharp looking design and you have a great inexpensive tool to help get the word out.
Some other great advantages of our email newsletters:

  • Through a special program, we can keep track of who opens your email newsletter and how many times. So if you have a potential client who looks at your newsletter 3 or more times, you know whom to target.
  • We can also place a link to your web site on the newsletter. With this link, we can track how many people looked at your web site by clicking on your web address. Not only does this draw traffic to your site but it boost with your search engine status with google, yahoo, msn, and other web search programs.
  • Email lists can be automatically uploaded to the program so that when you hit send, it will deliver the newsletter to all recipients within seconds. These lists can be added to or reorganized to different groups or types of clients.
  • Special precautions are built into the program so your newsletter has a great chance of avoiding the junk box or being tagged as SPAM.

The Purrr-fect Miracle

Filed under: life — landbdes @ 4:28 pm

Every parent has those moments where they would do almost anything to help their child in a time of need. Unfortunately, some things are just beyond our control. That is the way we felt Wednesday night when our oldest son said his bedtime prayers. He beseeched God about our cat that had been missing for over two months. The prayer was something like, “Jesus, please bring Toby (the cat) home. If she doesn’t come home, please let her live with someone who doesn’t have enough money to buy a cat.”
As much as we would have loved to muster up enough faith to tell him that Toby could come home, the only answer we could give him was that maybe Toby was with someone else. Of course, not really believing that line of wishful thinking, we had a much harsher reality in mind that we couldn’t bare to share with our son.
The next day, what we could not give our child had been given for us by Someone greater than ourselves. When Laura opened the back door, a familiar form and squeaky meow came emanating from the farmer’s field. Here after two months of being totally MIA, Toby the cat came trotting over to the house. A little skinnier and with quite an appetite, it was no doubt the same old Toby we all knew and loved.
Even as I write about the amazing return of this prodigal cat, I can’t believe I am feeling her tail swooshing against the back of my neck. I still shake my head in amazement as I marvel at the power of prayer and the purest faith of a little child. But even more so, I take comfort in the overwhelming love of the One who cares so much to answer that simple but purrr-fect prayer.

Filed under: clients, design, design celebrate, newsletter — landbdes @ 8:58 am

We are happy to announce that L&B Design will continue its sixth year of designing the Critter Chronicle for the Blue Mountain Animal Clinic. Along with paw prints that meander their way from page to page, readers can find useful information from a parrot named “Zemba” as well as feature articles focused on taking care of beloved pets. This newsletter is a prime example of how this type of service not only serves to help educate the customer, but also makes them feel like they are appreciated and an important part of the organization. A special thanks to Blue Mountain Animal Clinic for their continued support.

Fireworks & a celebration!

Filed under: clients, design celebrate, life — landbdes @ 11:48 am

Huddled close under a blanket and sitting on our back deck we enjoyed 4 firework displays shot over the mountains in our backyard! WOW the kids (yes, the l&b design founders are proud parents of 4 wonderfully adventurous boys) went wild seeing all the glorious colors hint the dark star filled sky. We sure had something to celebrate— Happy Birthday America!

But for l&b design we shot up a couple extra grocery store bought fireworks to celebrate the completion of our very own website! Yes it may seem quite tacky or rather unusual but for the past 3 years we have developed numerous client websites, but never finished our own. So here it is—at last there is no park page! A special thank you to all of our clients who helped build our portfolio over the past 5 years! Please surf the site and post any comments here…thanks and enjoy!
