Announcing New Website for Jacob’s Little Lambs Preschool

Filed under: website — landbdes @ 4:52 pm

little-lambs.jpg

How precious and innocent are our children at such an early age. Before too long these little lambs are thrown in with the sheep and must learn to cope in an uncertain world. That’s why it is so important to give our children the right foundation while they are still so young and easily influenced.
As parents, we feel that Jacob’s Little Lambs Christian Preschool has the nurturing environment, caring staff, and good Christian values our children need to be morally grounded. These are the values that they will bring to the next stage of their education as well as throughout their lives.
Please visit their new site at www.jacobslittlelambs.com. We were honored to be a part of the development of this site, and to assist them with their goal of sharing Jesus’ saving Word by providing quality education and care to the children of our community in a nurturing environment.

It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game!

Filed under: life — landbdes @ 1:52 pm

No one likes to lose. And the older you get the more you realize that losing is part of life, or a part of this life anyway.

Our business has experienced what appears to be a loss. There is more that can be done, other ways to win. But winning is not always the best end result. Why? Because in everyone’s life there is a time when an important decision must be made. Am I going to try to win at all cost? Am I going to do whatever it takes to push my way to the top? Or am I worried about how I play the game.

The higher road sometime feels like the lower one as we move forward on a path that is less traveled. But in the end, a person doesn’t add up all the wins and losses and finds solace if the former outweighs the latter, what matter most is how they lived their life. Who did they help instead of step on, who did they comfort instead of criticize, who did they love instead of hate.

Winning isn’t everything. Losing isn’t the end of everything. More than just playing to win, we want to win from the way that we played.

Top Five Tools for Business Owners for Under $5.00

Filed under: featured product — landbdes @ 4:19 pm

Number 1: Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee

iced_coffee_top_banner.jpg

When up against a formidable deadline, a good shot of caffeine is sometimes necessary to keep you going. If you’re a coffee drinker, but don’t want a warm drink in the summer heat, than this is the product for you. Many of our clients have Dunkin Donuts to thank for making sure their projects are delivered on time. This is such a revolutionary drink that it has its very own web site at www.myicedcoffee.com .

Number 2: Glad Garbage Bags

glad_drawstring.jpg

As a business owner, it’s not hard to accumulate a mountain of papers and have trouble digging your way out. Keep what you need and throw the rest away. Clutter can be one of your worst enemies in trying to optimize your time and run your business efficiently. Many times, a couple of good empty Glad trash bags have been just what our business needed.

Number 3: Scott Toilet Paper

scott_tissue_photo.jpg

Every one who owns or runs a business deals with people who are full of x@3!. It’s just the nature of the world and some of the people in it. When it happens, deal with it the best you can and then just wipe it away. Take all the bad stuff and flush it. Don’t let it affect your personal life or keep you stressed out all the time. Sometimes doing your best just needs to be enough.

Number 4: Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches

skinny_cow_ice_cream.jpg

Hard work deserves some type of reward. Even if it something as small as an ice cream sandwich it’s always important to enjoy the little things in life. All work and no play will burn you out so reward yourself for a job well done. If you are always doing a good job and your reward is an ice cream sandwich, make sure it’s a Skinny Cow so you don’t become a larger one.

Number 5: A Bible from Ollies

home_04.jpg

bible_web.jpg

At Ollies’ Discount Store, you really can get “good stuff cheap.” And by good stuff I mean Bibles and other Christian literature for under 5 bucks. What does this have to do with business? Everything. It’s so easy to get caught up in everyday life that we forget about what’s really important. Reading the Bible and absorbing its message will not only help us refocus our business, but our entire lives as well. Don’t get too busy with life’s many details to ask the bigger questions like: “What is the purpose of my life?”…“What will happen to me when I die?” and “Am I truly happy?” You can turn your business into something much more than just an avenue for making money, and a Bible for under 5 dollar will definitely help you do that.

jacob’s little lambs preschool

Filed under: clients, design, design celebrate, life, website — landbdes @ 10:42 am

Jacob’s Little Lambs Preschool is a Christian preschool for 3 & 4 year old children. Our boys attended school there last year and the twins, Luke & Connor, will continue their preschool studies this year, while Seth is off the kindergarten! The staff is so wonderful and caring to the children!

It just so happened that they were in need of a website, www.jacobslittlelambs.com, so we donated our services for this wonderful cause. What’s better than promoting an organization that was founded on the core belief of Christ? Their goal is to share Jesus’ saving Word while provide quality education and care to the children of the community.

The site is under development, with hopes of an early September completion date.

If there are any other Christian based organizations in need of marketing services, please send your request to the l&b design team for our review.

Give Search Engines a Rest

Filed under: marketing tips — landbdes @ 11:06 pm

Key word optimization, meta tags, and back links are all great methods for optimizing the amount of traffic that gets generated to your web site. However, many web sites have gone “search engine crazy” and have moved away from the real purpose in which they were created.

Sure, you want people to visit your site; without visitors what good would it be. On the other hand, what are all those people seeing when they get there? There’s no denying that hits are good, but catches are better. Web sites that not only draw traffic, but also leave a great first impression are a much better form of effective advertising.

A web site should be a useful tool for the viewer that is organized efficiently, informative, and impressive to look at. Web sites that have a home page with more words on it than the dictionary do not demand much visual attention. The goal of your site shouldn’t be to impress a lifeless search engine more than a potential customer.

Relying on search engines alone to promote your web site is a big mistake. Nobody has control over Google except Google, as well as the other search engines. Spending lots of money to boost search engine status isn’t always the best way to get the most results per marketing dollar, and you still could find yourself digging your way out of the “sandbox.”

Try actively promoting your site. Be sure to put your URL address as many places as possible as well as asking customers if they’ve seen your web site. Even if it is for just a simple critique, it will help get them more familiar with your online display.

Give people a reason to continually check out your site. Blogs, Current Events, Promotions, and Newsletters are a great way to keep customers coming back. Try not to always promote, but to give genuinely helpful information. Take more control over getting the right people to visit your site and give those search engines a rest.
